1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you and PageTurner LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“TransBook,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the TransBook website and services at transbook.vercel.app (the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

TransBook is an AI-powered book translation service. You upload a document, select a target language, and our system uses large language models (LLMs) to produce a translation. You can then read, edit, and download the translated content.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using TransBook, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that you do not have the legal right to translate or distribute
  • Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service or circumvent security features
  • Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

You represent that you have all necessary rights to upload and translate any content you submit to the Service.

6. Intellectual Property

Your content. You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and translate your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Translated output. You own the translated output generated from your content.

Our property. TransBook, its logos, design, code, and all other elements of the Service are our intellectual property. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our branding or technology.

No training use. We do not use your uploaded content or translated output to train AI models.

7. AI-Generated Translations

Translations produced by the Service are generated by third-party AI language models. AI-generated translations may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or hallucinated content. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Translations are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or faithful to the source material
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing all translated content before relying on it for any purpose
  • TransBook is not liable for any consequences arising from the use of AI-generated translations without human review
  • Translation quality may vary depending on the source material, language pair, and subject matter

8. Payments and Credits

Certain features of the Service may require the purchase of credits. All purchases are processed through Stripe. Prices are listed on the Service and may change with notice. Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable except as required by applicable law.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT TRANSLATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE OR FREE OF ERRORS.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TRANSBOOK, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TransBook and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your uploaded content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account with 30 days’ notice, or immediately if you violate these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. We may delete your data within 90 days of termination. Sections 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14 survive termination.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. General

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and TransBook regarding the Service. Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver.
